On 2 December 2023, the TY Danjuma Foundation inaugurated the Merry Ehanire Mother and Child Hospital.

In 2023, the World Health Organisation noted that almost 95% of maternal deaths occur in developing countries, where there is a lack of qualified health professionals.

This new facility in Benin City, Nigeria, aims to strengthen health systems for women and children by providing obstetric and gynaecological services, neonatal intensive care, child health, family planning, surgery, laboratory services, radiology, in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and cancer screening.
